University of Hertfordshire School of Education - F0X1 Secondary Education (PGCE)

Secondary Education (PGCE): This masters level programme offers Qualified Teacher Status for the 11-19 age range in secondary schools. Out of the thirty-six weeks of the programme, you spend twenty-four weeks on practical experience in a local secondary school. You also benefit from the knowledge and expertise of a team of practicing teachers from our partner schools.

We offer training for Art and Design, Business Education, English, Mathematics*, Modern Foreign Languages*(French, French with German, German with French, French with Spanish) and Science*.

* Available part-time over 2 years Primary Education (PGCE): This programme offers Qualified Teacher Status for the 3-11 age phases in primary schools with a choice of specialism in Foundation/Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 1/Key Stage 2. Out of the thirty-eight weeks of the programme, you spend eighteen weeks on practical experience in a local primary school.
