Located on a self- contained campus in Uxbridge, West London, Brunel is home to 14,000 students and has traditionally focused on technology, engineering and physical sciences. In recent years departments have expanded into the arts, humanities, social sciences, geography and heath. There are over 2,500 students which come from over 110 different countries in which help create a diverse atmosphere.
Accommodation is guaranteed for all first-years. Prices range from £81.41 to £99.66 a week.
The library has enjoyed recent investment and holds many computer facilities. Brunel also has an Arts Centre which organises concerts, shows and offers free music tuition, drawing and other classes.
Brunel is one of the UK's top institutions in sports. Top quality facilities include £14-million indoor athletics centre and netball hall, outdoor athletics arena and numerous sports pitches, gym and fitness suite, squash courts and climbing wall, and two full-sized floodlit playing fields.
Uxbridge is at the end of the Metropolitan line, so London is easy to get to. West Drayton railway station runs trains to/from London Paddington and Bristol. The university is also near the M4, M40 and M25.
Brunel's nightclub and two large vibrant bars are the focal point for the campus social scene. Academy (the SU) offered club nights every weeknight, the most popular being Flirt on Monday and Global on Fridays. In town, Liquid is very popular on a Wednesday and entry is usually cheaper if you obtain a flyer on campus. Uxbridge also boasts a range of restaurants.
There is a very strong sense of community feel at Brunel and as everything is on one campus you do start to recognise faces and feel welcomed into a family.
