University Information

De Montfort University is a modern university that has more than 18,000 students all based on a compact and safe city campus in the centre of Leicester. There is a second campus, the Charles Frear campus, which offers courses in nursing and midwifery. De Montfort University has a strong academic focus and a DMU qualification is highly regarded and relevant to the world of work.

Accommodation

Accommodation is guaranteed for all first-years. University accommodation ranges from £74 to £90 a week.

Facilities

£1.7m has been spent on revamping the library. The library is open 24 hours a day, five days a week and gives you access to 600,000 books, 2000 print journals and a big collection of CDs, DVDs, videos and slides.

Sports Facilities

The sports centre is located on campus and is within walking distance of all halls of residence. There is a selection of facilities including fitness equipment, saunas and squash courts

Transport

Both campuses are within walking distance of the city centre. Road and rail links to the rest of the UK are excellent.

Student Life

The city centre has countless bars, pubs and clubs. There are also a range of coffee bars and cafes around the city. The Students' Union offers a variety of events throughout the year such as fashion shows, cultural exchanges and themed nights.

Campus Life

The Campus has a modern sophisticated feel and there’s a good mix of modern and traditional buildings. It is set in a lively vibrant city, so there will be no need to worry about not fitting in. Students are friendly and come from all over the world with different backgrounds and faiths.
