Glyndwr University formed in July 2008 when the North East Wales Institute of Higher Education gained university status. The University has two main sites: Plas Coch and the North Wales School of art and design. There are approximately 8,000 full-time students who benefit from a wealth of employment opportunities in and around Wrexham.
Accommodation is available for first- years. Prices cost about £50 to £77 a week.
Facilities include s a well-resourced library, a state-of-the-art recording studio, and thirteen computer suites and wireless internet access across the Wrexham campus.
Glyndwr University's sports centre is situated on the Wrexham campus and houses a sports hall, fitness suite and dance studio. It is also home to the international-standard North Wales Regional Hockey Stadium, plus an all-weather sports pitch.
Wrexham has direct train links to London, Birmingham and Cardiff.
The Students' Guild aims to provide a range of entertainment in the bar, which caters for anyone’s taste. The Guild Bar is perfect for relaxing during the day over a meal and some drinks and at night it offers excellent entertainment such as comedy nights, karaoke and DJ sets. Wrexham town centre is also fast growing with a reputation for some of the best nightlife in the region.
The university is a vibrant, friendly place where each student’s learning and future is given personal attention. The facilities on campus are top notch too.
