Bristol is one of the most popular university's in the UK and has become an internationally respected academic institution. The University of Bristol has around 12,500 undergraduates and 3,500 postgraduates that can make the most out of excellent research and teaching. The university is located in the city centre which offers a great social scene.

There are thirteen libraries across the university with 1.4 million books, printed journal articles and other resources. The drama and music department also boasts some impressive facilities.
The university has invested over £8m in facilities for sport and exercise in recent years – these include a £5m indoor sports centre, a tennis centre, a 33m swimming pool and a rowing facility.

There are three bars within the Students' Union: the Epicurean Bar, the Mandela Bar and the Avon Gorge Bar. Park Street, which is adjacent to the Wills Building complex, is home to a range of bars, restaurants and smaller clubs, many of which are very popular venues for students. The city is great for shopping and in 2008 a new state-of the-art shopping centre was open.
