The University of Plymouth is located in the south-west of England and is one of the largest in the country, with a student population of approximately 30,000 students. The main campus is only a short walk away from the city centre and in addition to this there are smaller partner colleges all over the South-West of England and on the Channel Islands. University of Plymouth is very popular with students due to its distance from some of the nicest beaches in the UK.
Around 50% off first-years will be offered university accommodation. Weekly cost for accommodation is £65 to £130.
Facilities at Plymouth are great. Plymouth is the only UK University to have its own diving and marine centre where students can gain a diving qualification. Other facilities include three libraries, a £35m award-winning arts building and a building for health and social work students.
There is a squash and fitness centre available at Plymouth. The Mount Batten Watersports Centre is also available for sports such as sailing and canoeing.
The campus is in the city centre so transport links are great. On train, London is about three hours away.
The Students' Union has several bars. The main one is Ignition Bar, opposite that there is Illusion which opens on nightclub nights. Fuzzy Duck is the third bar that is relatively new and open everyday. In town, there are plenty of clubs, pubs and bars with a different student night every day of the week.
Campus life is good at this university. Facilities are great and there are several bars on campus if you fancy a social night.
