Dance is an art form that refers to the movement of the body, used as a form of expression, social interaction or presented in a performance setting.

You’ll learn a variety of dance forms as well as develop your performance, creative and critical skills on top of being more aware of dance in a cultural context. Your degree will most likely be organised into different sections of study and you will study a combination of practice and theory through lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials.

Entry requirement

Undergraduate:
typical entry requirement can range from BBB-CCC. Usually there are no subject requirements; however Dance at either A or AS level is preferable.

Postgraduate: many universities require you to audition and have an interview to gain a place.

PhD: Normally you will be expected to hold a good master’s degree or the equivalent.
