Career Options

Education graduates often choose to enter careers relating to education such as teaching, policy making and administration in both local and national governments. If you are on a teaching course then it’s most likely that you will end up working in a school as a teacher. Other career destinations range from:

  • Teaching assistants
  • Media and journalism

The main employers of education graduates are usually local government authorities, however some education graduates may choose to work in colleges and private school where you are employed directly by the institution.

If you have not taken up an Education course where you receive NQT status once graduating then a popular route is to continue with study and go on to a PGCE which is a one year course where you will receive NQT status so that you can go onto teaching.
