What is an MBA?

What is an MBA?

Buisness

The Master in Business Administration (MBA) is now considered to be one of the most prestigious qualifications in the world and is the gateway to a successful career in business management.

Students on an accredited MBA course usually bring five to ten years postgraduate experience with them. The MBA is therefore considered to be a post-study experience. With so many programmes to choose from the quality of MBAs on offer can vary. It is therefore extremely important that you do your research and find an accredited course. Also, because the MBA attracts older graduates with additional work and family commitments there is a large variety of part-time and distance learning MBA programmes that are both accredited and flexible.

An MBA is considered to be a long-term investment in both time and money. A common reason for students deciding to study an MBA is for an increase in salary and to open further career opportunities and to develop personal skills at the same time as extending their knowledge in general management.

A recent survey conducted by the Association of MBA's discovered that the average MBA salary is £65,000.

With the growing reputation of an MBA its graduates are in high demand. MBA students therefore choose the course to improve job and long-term career opportunities. A recent survey by the Association of MBA's discovered that 70% of its members were board directors or senior managers.
