Going to
university can be extremely expensive. So, is it really worth it? Why not just get a job?
Think long Term
Be honest with yourself. Do you want to go from job to job or do you actually want a career? If so, a career or job in what? Many professions demand that you have a degree and there are many that do not. However, you may be required to take some form of training whatever route you choose. Do your research and look into the long-term prospects of working within a specific industry. If you are not sure what you want to do then why not have a chat with a careers adviser who should be able to point you in the right direction. www.connexions.co.uk
Better Paid Jobs
Research shows us that graduates in the UK, on average, earn more money than people without degrees and their income is also greater as they get older. They are also twice as likely to be employed and much more likely to be promoted to managerial and senior positions.
Life Experience
Attending university may not only provide you with the opportunity to enter a higher paid profession once you graduate, it could also allow you the opportunity to gain some great industry work experience and even travel as part of your degree. University can provide you with a life education through a protected environment. However, it can be expensive and is not for everyone so, make sure you research the demands of your chosen career path before you make any final decisions.
